Description:
Man’s lust for God’s power and wisdom hinders the Spirit’s work in Christ’s church. The same sin that separated all men from God in the Garden of Eden, the same sin that separates all men from fellowship with God apart from salvation in Christ Jesus is the same sin that hinders the church of God from accomplishing the work of God by the Spirit of God.

The unredeemed do not have the power or wisdom to be reconciled to God nor do they have the power or wisdom to be reconciled to one another. Rejecting the gift of God in Christ Jesus, they strive in futility to accomplish what only God can do and has done.

Not so with us! The power of the cross fully redeems both our relationship to the Holy God and to the brotherhood of the saints. We must, therefore, choose to walk in the power of redemption secured for us by the blood of Jesus on the cross. Our redemption cannot be undone, but we may choose to act like it—choosing quarrels and divisions instead of fellowship and unity.
