Heart Cry for Satisfaction

Psalm 36
Psalms - A Heart Cry to God

Description:
Psalm 36 teaches us that there is inexhaustible satisfaction found in an inexhaustible God. Hear the promise God extends to all His people: “They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights.” God invites us everyday to feast at the buffet of His infinite goodness. Every longing of your heart will be met only in the One who created and redeemed your life. Satisfaction is found in the Lord our God.

Despite this open invitation to be satisfied by God, it is possible for God’s people to surrender their satisfaction in life. There are two primary enemies that threaten to rob us of satisfaction: the pride inside us, and the evil around us. When we attempt to find all we need within ourselves (pride) or when we attempt to obtain satisfaction through the things of this world, it quenches our appetite for God, leaving us unsatisfied and exhausted. You cannot be filled up on yourself or on the things of this world and be filled up with God. You can have as much of God as you are willing to pursue.
