As we transition into a new section of Peter’s letter, we come to grips with the reality that we will suffer in this life. Suffering will come in many different shapes and sizes, but all of us will suffer. Peter’s teachings beginning in the latter part of chapter three are aimed at helping us to understand suffering because he knows that we must understand suffering in order to endure it well.
