Sunday, May 11th
Pastor Rickey Primrose
1 Timothy 1:1-11
As you read through the text to prepare for Sunday, pray for the Holy Spirit to open your heart and keep these questions in mind:
• What does this text say about God?
• What does this text say about people?
• How can I apply this text in context?
• How is the Spirit leading me to respond?
• Did these verses raise any questions as I read?
We wrapped up the book of Mark last week, and this Sunday we’re launching a brand new summer series in the book of 1 Timothy!
This powerful letter is all about how the Gospel of Jesus Christ—when rightly taught within the church—shapes our faith and guides how we live together as a local body of believers.
To kick things off, Pastor Bob will begin the series by sharing some background on Timothy and unpacking what it means to be a disciple—setting the stage for the weeks ahead.
Here are a few ways you can prepare your heart and mind for this journey through 1 Timothy:
- 📖 Read or listen through the entire book of 1 Timothy.
- 📝 Pay attention to recurring themes and jot down any questions you may have.
- 🙏 Pray for our pastors as they study and teach God’s Word.
- ❤️ Come each week with an open heart, ready to submit to God’s word.
See y’all Sunday!
Next date: Sunday, May 11th
Here are some ways that you can prepare your hearts to sit at the Lord’s Table, which we partake in twice a month together:
Reflect – Reflect on the person and work of Christ.
Meditate on who He is and what He has done.
Examine your heart – Examine your heart and confess any sin or areas of misplaced hope.
Examine your love – Examine your relationships. Is there anyone that you need to reconcile with before taking the Lord’s Supper.
Rejoice – Come with gladness and thanksgiving that God has made you worthy to enter His presence.
