We return to our series through the Sermon on the Mount and begin chapter 7 by examining what is perhaps the most quoted verse in the entire Bible: “Judge not, that you be not judged.” As you prepare for Sunday, prayerfully read back through Matthew 5-7 focusing especially on 7:1-6. What does Jesus intend with this prohibition against judging? What does He not intend? Remember to consider the context as you answer these questions. Do you notice any theme that runs throughout 7:1-6?
